The imagination is one of the most powerful places we can draw from when we are trying to grow. Finding time to flourish in our own world is sometimes difficult, we need encouragement, inspiration, motivation.
It’s easier to want to do something than it is to really do it or even try, it can be intimidating and frustrating. That’s what learning to fly is like, and when we finally do it we feel free and life becomes exciting again.
Cultivating creativity is a path full of learning, practicing and exploring. when we do it on a whim, we surprised ourselves with talent we didn’t know was in there. When we plan and prepare, we end up with better results than we expected.
Collaborating is another fascinating way to mesh with others, learn new skills and find out things about our selves that are vital to our healing and self-expression.
I love making music, singing with others, painting and co-creating – even if it’s in a darker time of life, in fact that’s when some of the most growth happens! Like a seed…the darkness is necessary, and it’s protection from too much light at once. Every seed is different.
My creative force is in music and fine arts, I did paint classes at 4 and soon realized I had a natural talent for drawing as well. I loved performing in my teen years on stage and I have taken voice classes including opera, but recommend being very gentle with the voice even when acting.
You see, we have these talents built into us, we just need to unleash them. It is so therapeutic to find self expression, even if it is awkward and uncomfortable, you are safe with me. I have been hindered before and I know what it’s like to have to unravel from a place of insecurities and self doubt.
First though, imagine yourself and remember how amazing you are.
